The Simon Group's product quality is based on its own tool-making operation. Highly skilled precision work is performed in this area: in producing prototypes, in tool assembly and in maintenance and repairs. The range of tool-making services also includes the production of small batches and pilot runs. Available in the tool shop to do this are modern CNC lathes, HSC milling machines and eroding machines. The full range of use for applications within the Simon Group covers: cutting, punching and bending tools, zinc die-casting moulds, racks and apparatus, measurement and calibration tools, tools for powder presses, plastic injection-moulding casts and extrusion matrices. Our in-house training guarantees the high level of expertise and outstanding skills of our workforce.

Siku runs 27 injection-moulding machines with a closing force of 15 to 320 tons and injection volumes of up to 220cm³. Fitted with fully automatic handling equipment and operated on a 4-shift system, they guarantee cost-efficient, high-quality production. The company works with all standard strengthened and non-strengthened thermoplastics, above all PA, ABS, POM and PEEK plastics.

Compared to other methods of shaping parts, sintering comes out tops in terms of cost-efficiency, especially for mass produced parts. With extreme shaping freedom and minute precision, no post-production finishing is generally required. The materials deployed, such as bronze, iron and rustproof grades of steel, get 100% used. Another unique customer benefit is represented by the ability to customise material properties. Density, ductility and hardness, for example, can be tailored in each instance to the part's intended function.

In addition to the 2,500kN presses for shaping sheet metal and processes such as punching and stamp-bending, we also have machines available for producing zinc die cast parts using closing forces of up to 800kN. Where needed, processes such as scouring, thread cutting, etc. are added downstream.

Almost every procedural combination of copper, nickel and chrome plating is used for the decorative finishing of parts made of ABS and PC/ABS synthetics. Using zinc, nickel and gloss chrome plating, steel and brass parts get given a decorative and/or functional coating. Client requirements such as automotive industry norms and specifications can be directly implemented. In addition to several automatic racks, automatic barrels are also used. For parts with special shapes and for other specific requirements we make custom electroplating racks. A modern wastewater treatment system ensures that production conditions are environmentally friendly.
