SME in character >> Innovative >> Successful

Based in Aichhalden near Schramberg, the Simon Group has since 1992 been a part of Indus Holding AG. As an international group with around 550 employees, Simon generates turnover of €170 million.

The group’s four companies are divided into seven business divisions that operate in the market both jointly and independently. Having a local presence, quality assurance, an innovative spirit and market focus are all hallmarks of the group’s success, as are our highly motivated employees, who feel a strong sense of identity with the company.

Production processes in the fields of tungsten carbide technology, sintering, plastic injection moulding, electroplating and assembly, combined with the company's own high capacity tool-making operation and materials laboratory, guarantee competitive, technically excellent products. An important link bonding the group together is the joint administration department. Centralised operations for purchasing, controlling and finance, personnel, IT and quality management create common standards and ensure the benefits of synergy through efficient processes.

The companies within the group are Betek, Sitek, Siku and Karl Simon. BETEK produces consumable tools and anti-wear solutions for machines and equipment used in mining, road construction, excavation, recycling and agriculture. SITEK produces studs for tyres and similar fields of application, plus tungsten carbide tools and powder. SIKU, based in Switzerland, produces synthetic injection-moulded parts. Karl Simon is split into three divisions: furniture fittings, electroplating and sintering. Simon Furniture Fittings produces fittings and other functional parts, e.g. drawer dampers and retractor systems for the furniture industry. Simon Electroplating provides all sorts of different kinds of finishes for synthetic and metal tops. Simon Sintering mass produces parts made of sintered metal for the automotive industry and for plant and machinery construction.

Many new or enhanced products are developed in close collaboration with our customers. Numerous patents testify to the individual firms’ and divisions’ great innovative skills. The products are developed and made ready for mass production with the aid of cutting edge technologies, such as FEM and rapid prototyping. The work produced in every area stands out for its outstanding quality and is, indeed, ‘Hightech made in Germany’.

The Simon Group also demonstrates strengths across it divisions, especially in the case of complete mechanical assemblies. The manufacturing procedures of every division complement each other perfectly, thus offering complete products from a single source. Numerous long-standing partnerships with national and international OEM clients confirm the success of the group’s overall concept.

All Simon Group companies are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and DIN EN ISO 14001. Simon Sintering is also certified to TS ISO 16949:2002.
